My first time in front of an audience

There is a first time for everything and for me speaking in front of an audience just got crossed, it was truly a special moment, you can even say the beginning of something special.

As a kid I had stage fright, I was extremely nervous and during the event, I had already imagined all kinds of possible scenarios in my head.
I went 2 hours prior to the event and started practicing what to be said and how to be said. At one point I saw a waiter who was staring at me confused, as I was the only one there who was speaking to myself aloud.

But there is a lot more to learn. Oratory is a long process and it’s not something that happens overnight.

Trying to gain the greatest asset in the world - “How we communicate”

Observation

Whether we are trying to network or give a presentation, it’s important that we understand that our conversations never lean on being one-sided. Understand that our audience is inside that room for a reason.

Has anyone seen Steve Jobs' presentation? His intros are so great that they clearly outline what the product did while creating intrigue. This means, that one sentence summarizes the whole product he was presenting and my introduction to our software was no different.

“Discover and Get Discovered”.
FYI - Dartle is a sports talent identification platform that allows sporting agencies, academies, scouts, and teams to identify prospective sporting talents right from the grassroots, by increasing their visibility through a specialized assessment model.

The 5 things that you always need to keep in mind are
1. Content
2. Delivery
3. Voice
4. Body Language
5. Intention
6. Context
7. Feedback

Giving a talk is the best opportunity to amplify our message but It’s also critical that we understand and tailor it to the audience to make them more receptive. Also, we need to keep one thing in mind, everyone has been invited to talk for a reason.

Try to reach out to the speakers to build that relationship far earlier. I can’t deny the fact that I did have butterflies in my stomach but the one thing that kept resonating within my mind to overcome that was something that I read from a blog,

"We have this opportunity to spark an idea".
"We're lighting fires in the minds of others."

Cheers to more events and to more presentations :)
